The GOOD: (1) H-1B visa numbers are still available! USCIS recently advised that, as of September 3, 2010, approximately 36,600 H-1B cap-subject petitions were receipted. Additionally, USCIS has reported receipting 13,400 H-1B petitions for aliens with advanced degrees. Therefore, more than 35,000 new H-1B visas are still available for fiscal year 2011 (which ends September 30, 2011). Given the current usage and demand, it is anticipated that the H-1B cap will be reached sometime in the first quarter of 2011 (with no new visa numbers available until October 1, 2011). Hi everybody,
I was wondering if somebody could help me with a journal/professional association website that my job ad (senior web developer) could be posted.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Also I had a question about the employment.
When one graduates from University is he/she eligible to still work for the University while waiting for the OPT?
i.e. graduation date (dec 22) - opt start date (january 17th)

Professor Raul Hinojosa-Ojeda of UCLA (and a former Immigrant of the Day) has authored a major report that has been released by the Center for American Progress and the Immigration Policy Center that shows that fixing the country's immigration system could produce massive economic benefits for the US. The report shows the following: This report uses a computable general equilibrium model to estimate the economic ramifications of three different scenarios: 1) comprehensive immigration reform that creates a pathway to legal status for unauthorized immigrants in the United States and establishes flexible limits on permanent and temporary immigration that respond to...

I work for company A in india which has a subsidary company "B" in US.
On "B"'s request i worked in US for company B from July 2006 to Nov 2006 (for which i have valid pay checks).
I went back to India and worked for A till June and i came to US again to work for Company B.
Now as soon as i entered US, i have applied for a premium H1 company transfer to Company C.
Now i got a query to submit my Pay checks which i do not have as i resigned Company B after coming to US.
Please suggest me whats the ideal way to answer this query...
This is really urgent and Please reply ASAP

For what it's worth, I was a Nikon pro card carrier back in the '70's. It was a FABULOUS service. I was allowed to borrow expensive gear for free that I would never have used otherwise (e.g. radio-remote release, medical telephoto with built-in ring flash, nikonos)
And the "go the head of the line" repair service saved me more than once. While I was vacationing in California I needed some urgent repairs and was told by the local main Nikon repair shop that their backlog even for "urgent" repairs was 3 months. I flashed my pro card and it was in the repair shop by 10:00 and out by noon!
