Law.com reports that the American Bar Association is being pressured to move a conference in Phoenix scheduled for next week after its co-sponsor for the event, the National Legal Aid & Defender Association, announced it was pulling out of the event. Other groups that planned to send representatives, like the City Bar Justice Center in New York, called for the conference location to be moved. A number of speakers at the event have also announced they will not attend. I am in 7th year of H1b. I joined comany A in May-2003 and filed EB3 base in Nov-2003. I had approve labor and I-140.
I moved a big company (Company B) in 06/08/2007 (just few days before the EB categories got current).
Company A has agreed to help me file I-485
Company B is ready to file new PERM (Earlier it was agreed that after PERM approval PD will be transferred).
What would be the best bet now?
Is it OK to file I-485 myself with approved I-140 from comany A (With intention to join them later)to be safe and
File new PERM with Company B..later (after PERM approval) transfer PD from my old case and file I-485 again (It would take approx 6 months min).
Any comments / suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

When you have no GC and are on h1 legally...can you go on a cruise..I do not have stamping on the PP ..the cruise goes to some places in the caribean??..is there a immigration check while comming back??..how does this stuff work...OR is it no GC no Cruise??..

Definitely, we have to meet with all the senators.
I was hoping on getting some of the new senators to side with us assuming they have independent views and maybe we can get their support more easily.......

Unless some political goof up turns, economy seems to be getting brighter and brighter. This might help translate into more jobs and opportunities..

Hi,
I missed to write my family name in I -94 and When I reached the SSN office to apply SSN, I came to know that the mistake to be corrected and I am advised to meet the immigration office.
Now I am planning to go back to India next month, If I apply for I -94 correction I will take more then 60 days to get the new I 94 and I have to attach the original I -94 along with I-102 form (form for I 94 correction).
So I can travel back to india without correcting the mistake in I 94 and without the orginal I -94.
Please reply me in details

The National Foundation for American Policy has issued an important report analyzing the interplay between of trade laws and S.887 and S.2804, bills introduced by Senators Grassley and Sanders, which would impose an array of new restrictions on skilled workers. Yes. Your dependents can go for a H4 visa stamping provided you (primary h1 beneficiary) were always in status. (which from your post looks like you were)
You will have to send your paystubs, latest h1 approval notice etc - with your family for the
h4 visa interview.

Effective July 9, 2010, the Department of State revised its visa reciprocity schedule for China to allow for a 12 month, multiple entry visa for H visa applicants. This will allow H-1B visa holders from China to have multiple entries into the U.S. for a 12 month period. Hello Folks:
Sorry for this new thread. But I need help in interpreting the information that I got when I went to Local Office.
My I485 is in Locak Office and it was transferred to the San Jose office after we had our interview in Boston back in October 2005.
When I spoke with the officer (not IO) he said that quote:
" Priority Date
AUA 1 or / 7/1/07
I 485 Forward to 245 Unit "
What does this mean? Can you guys help me understand what he is trying to say. I mentioned that we are already interviewed.

Your company's HR/legal should be able to give you an answer on how to reply to the NOF. I think they just have to show that they need you in the location that they put on application. Just make sure that EVERYTHING on applciation pertains to that same location - i.e market wage rates etc etc. If for some reason they do not have experience in these matters, try and get a hold of that NOF and go see a real lawyer. And word to the wise - be prepared to pay a little for the advice that you get. You always pay for what you get- so don't go to some 2-bit lawyer who will charge you $100 for answering questions when you can pay $200-$250 for someone who will give you worthy advice.

The President has started revealing his plans on immigration for the next year. It sounds like he's planning on trying a do-over with Congress and attempting again to get a comprehensive immigration bill passed. He'll make the case for this in his State of the Union Address. I'm happy the President is still interested in working for change, I sincerely hope he is not making passing a reform bill his SOLE strategy. I'm reminded of Presidents in the past who regularly spoke in favor of something, but you just knew they didn't really care and were just trying to appease...

My wife is currently applying for labor certification and I am planning to start my process for green card also. Is it advisable for both of us to apply for the green card? Is it considered duplication by the INS?
The reason for both of us starting the green card is that in case one of us has to move to a different job the other green card application might serve as a backup.
